Spring Forward! Sort of.....

So, this morning I woke up at my regular time - 6:30....Only to realize that it was, yes, 7:30, which is when mass starts. Peter and I started talking - breakfast, coffee, how we should take advantage of the beautiful weather. At 9:15, he walks in with grocery bags full of breakfast goodies and DELICIOUS PJ's coffee and at that moment I realized I was supposed to be at La Madeline in Elmwood in 15 minutes....I have never showered and gotten dressed so fast in my life. Thirty minutes later and 15 minutes late, I met Amber for breakfast and a movie.

We went to see Remember Me (mostly because Robert Pattinson was in it). Ok, so ONLY because Robert Pattinson was in it. Surprisingly, it was a pretty good movie - if you absolutely LOVE terribly depressing movies with very controversial endings. So, I didn't care for the ending at all but I did enjoy the movie and of course, the eye candy in the movie. And as an added bonus, Ta Dahhhh - Pierce Brosnan played the dad in the movie. Boy, has he aged well. If you don't make it to the theater to see it, it is at least worth a Blockbuster or Netflix night.

After the movie we took the kids to City Park and Storyland. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and everyone had a great time.

When does it end?

Just wondering if some people will EVER grow up. At least three times a year, I get a collect call from a correctional facility in the area. Always from the same person, always for the same crap. If I had all of the money I put out to bail said family member out of jail, I suspect I could take a pretty sweet vacation....I mean, by the time you hit around 30, you should be fairly settled - especially if you are married with children. There is no reason to go out and drink constantly. AND if you go to jail for the SAME thing over and over again, obviously something has to change. Don't forget about the four, yes four, vehicles that have been impounded and stayed impounded.

I have done my best to remove myself from the situation, which doesn't do a whole lot for my relationship with my niece or nephew. I justify it by saying that I lived in a world filled with anxiety on a daily basis, wondering what was going to happen next or what happened when someone called from their house.

My grandpa has always said that there is a special place reserved for me in heaven because of all of the things I have been through and dealt with. I hope there is a drink waiting for me in my "special place". By the time I get there, I am going to need it.

What's going on with you?

This morning felt sort of spring like, 65 degrees (100% humidity). So, I decided to dress Joseph in his first "spring outfit". I have to say, he looked pretty cute but it makes me sad that he is growing so fast; 8 months old already (the outfit was 12 months and a little snug-the top button was fighting for its life).

The office is currently under construction due to a small mishap (fire) in the copy room. I have to say, the remediation is worse than it was after Hurricane Katrina. It seems like it is taking FOREVER. Tensions are high, things are unorganized and everything is VERY dusty.

In the middle of the office debacle and other what nots, life is happening. Anthony is getting his drivers' license next week (watch out for the White Expedition beginning next Friday), PJ is almost 7 and thinks he is almost 20 and Joseph will be 1 soon. We are looking for a new house, thinking about a new car and Peter has been looking for a job for SEVEN long months now.

It is funny how things work out. Peter and I can barely live together sometimes but we work together fine. When he first lost his job I completely FLIPPED out - I mean, how were we going to live? We have made things work and while I have had to cut some things out of my life (I will see you soon COACH), it hasn't been too bad.

I promise to take and post pictures of all of the boys soon.

Last Sunday, baby Joe was welcomed into the world of Catholics. As Baptisms go, it was very nice and everything went well. Stuffing 20 or so people into a too small house can be a challenge but it all worked out, just as it always does. The food was good and the company was great.

Supermom?

I have always wondered if I take on more than I can handle. That said, I continue to take on the world and don't have the heart to say no....to anything. It always gets done and I always come through but the stress in preparation is too much to handle sometimes. This week, I helped plan a birthday party, this morning I catered it - tomorrow, Joseph is being christened and we are having a party here. So, my house smells like a restaurant and I could probably use a team of maids - a couple of nannies and a full kitchen staff wouldn't hurt either. I am cooking, cleaning , have a list of errands to run and Peter, my 38 year old child, is moping because he is hungry. I wish I was Samantha from Bewitched.

Joseph is finally napping- he had a pretty long day. We attended a birthday party this morning and braved Wal Mart immediately afterward. He was cross and miserable and who can blame him? I am tired too.....

As always, there are too many things to be done and not enough hours in the day.

Time is running short

So, we are getting ready for baby #3. I wonder if I was meant to have 3 children 6-10 years apart. Every time I start, I am starting over completely. I don't mind though - I love babies, especially my own. It is very stressful, though. There are plenty of things to be done before baby gets here. Most of it should have been done before P.J. arrived almost 6 years ago... We have contractors coming for estimates on an addition, workers coming to finish sheetrock, flooring, cabinets, molding - all of which should have been done years ago. Baby has certainly lit a fire under someone, but I won't mention that person by name. I think he got a little nervous when I threatened to move into an apartment if the house wasn't ready when baby arrived. I think I have been more than patient, some people get divorced over things less serious.

On another note, it is Carnival time again. Of course, I prefer to spend Mardi Gras in another state, but this year it just wasn't feasible. So, I will suck it up, take in a few parades and pretend I am excited when P.J. catches beads to add to our growing pile in Peter's shed.

So, we are officially due in 21 weeks and we will find out the sex of the peanut in 2 weeks. I will keep you posted.
